Okay, so what’s the appropriate archive format to use for video?

I’m sticking with my DNG workflow for digital stills, for a number of reasons; and I’m in the process of switching from PDF to XPS for digital documents (for a similar set of reasons that I really should find the time to articulate here). But what should I be doing with the little video clips we’re increasingly using to capture digital memories? Currently these clips are in a combination of formats, depending on which device happens to get used: AVI and MPEG-4 , with FLV used when sharing with friends and family. Should I be storing these in some other format?

In more ways than one.

Been too busy with stuff to post, hence the silence.

Made the foolish mistake this morning to “give in” to the constant nagging from some piece of software to “upgrade” the software version in an attached Mp3 player.

Several hours later, music and podcasts have been restored, albeit after a complete wipe and reinstall of the said MP3 player and accompanying software on the PC.

Trouble is, this updated version appears to have an “insert random screech in aiddy’s music” feature. Since the old and inferior stuff worked just fine, this is rather frustrating.
